So...I should do posts like these more often because no one has any idea what I do at school! But hey, it's a start.
Our latest assignment was evening wear. I based my design on Silk Spectre from Watchmen. I'd been wanting to do a Watchmen-inspired piece for a while now, but last semester was all ready-to-wear and therefore not fabulous enough. I guess it's a mixture of movie and comic.
I'm going to make a few small changes before Reviews. I'm adding some hand beading on the princess seams of the waist cincher, and I'm going to let the center front slit in the chiffon extend up to the waistline so the skirt can really billow on the runway. All in all, I'm pretty happy with it.
These pictures aren't ideal.... eventually I'll get a real model to wear it and do a better job styling her. This was the best I could do on short notice. I only did it because it looks MUCH better on an actual body than on the dress form.
